'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers: Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting Hints Penny and Leonard’s Wedding

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, who portrays Penny in the CBS sitcom, 'The Big Bang Theory,' recently hinted that fans may expect to see Penny and Leonard (Johhny Galecki) getting married when the show returns for its ninth season this fall.

Christian Today reports that 'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 finale ended with Penny and Leonard on their way to Las Vegas for an unplanned wedding when Leonard killed the mood by confessing that he had an affair a few years back during an expedition. Since then, fans have been wondering whether or not the couple will go through with their wedding, and Cuoco-Sweeting's recent response to a question by Entertainment Weekly seems to have provided them with the answer they were seeking for some time now.

Cuoco-Sweeting told the publication, "Between Leonard and Penny, all the dreams came true for me. I'll put it that way," adding, "I've been waiting many seasons for it."

Understandably, Penny would be dreaming of them staying together and getting married, which suggests that fans will see the two characters finally tying the knot in the next season. In fact, this is consistent with a previous casting update that hinted Leonard and Penny would definitely get married early on in Season 9.

However, this doesn't suggest that Leonard's affair will be a forgotten chapter overnight. According to previous reports, Melissa Tang has been cast to portray Mandy, the girl Leonard kissed while conducting a science expedition at the North Sea. Nevertheless, Mandy will not appear on the scene until after the premiere episode, which is when Leonard and Penny are likely to wed.

Talking to the publication, Cuoco-Sweeting clarified that she was not aware of the complete details as the writers and show runners haven't revealed everything to them as yet. Nevertheless, they have commenced shooting and the actress stated that Season 9 will be as funny as ever.

"We've shot a couple episodes, and it has been amazing right out of the gate. I even think the next one we shot is funnier than the first one we shot," she stated. "It answers a lot of questions. We're off to a great start," the actress added.

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 premieres on CBS on Sept. 21.
