'Terminator 5: Genisys' Release Date: Launch Marked for July 1, 2015

Following the action-packed cyborg assault of 'Terminator 4: Salvation' released in May 2009, the fifth installment of the sci-fi action franchise is set to conquer the big screens on July 1, 2015. Recently, the new film has been officially titled, 'Terminator: Genisys'.

Production for the film has been working in New Orleans on the project since April 21 of this year. Fans can expect thrilling and death-defying scenes as this film will be crafted by 'Thor: The Dark World' director Alan Taylor.

The stellar cast of this upcoming film includes Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, and the comeback of the original Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fans and moviegoers will certainly look forward seeing the governor/actor again in his iconic role as a T-800 machine.

Meanwhile, the title of the movie was first rumored to be 'Terminator 5: Genesis', but evolved into 'Terminator: Genisys' during filming. To end all speculation that this was a typo of some sorts, or simply false information, Schwarzenegger posted his photo on Facebook sitting in a chair labeled "Terminator Genisys."

James Cameron's original concept for 'Terminator' (1984) involves a nuclear holocaust created by an artificial intelligence resistance network called Skynet, wherein the lead character John Connor is said to rally survivors and lead a defense group to protect humanity against a large army of machines.

Many believe that this original concept will be rehashed into the new film, but with the addition of progressive technology. While the plot for 'Terminator: Genisys' remains to be disclosed, production has wrapped up filming since August 6, which means spoilers are potentially on the way.
