Sony Xperia Z6 Release Date News, Specs Rumors: When will Sony Launch the New Flagship Smartphone?

Techies interested in picking up the upcoming Sony Xperia Z6 might have to wait longer than expected as reports are claiming Sony is slowing down with the releases of their flagship model smartphones. While this might stand to upset some consumers, others feel it's the right move and will only serve to make Sony a stronger company with better products.

For those that many not know, Sony has kept the pattern of releasing a new Sony Xperia model phone every six months or so. While this might seem like a blessing, in the long run reports are saying it hasn't helped the company financially in the mobile phone department.

While some consumers are happy that Sony releases and upgraded model so often, others feel they don't get to enjoy the latest model long enough before a newer on comes out.

Stepping into what's in store with Sony and its Xperia line, Sony's Art Director Rikke Gertsen Constein indirectly stated at the IFA 2015 in Berlin that there will not be any new smartphone releases in the first half of 2016. She went on to say that they're looking into launched new phones in the second half of 2016 as well as in 2017 and 2018.

As it stands, there's no telling what specs and features are going to come with the Sony Xperia Z6, but rest assured, it's going to pack a punch. Android Pit claims that the newest flagship model is definitely going to pack the OmniBalance design that previous possess.

The report went on to speculate that the Z6 will come with the Snapdragon 820 processor as well as the same 1080p display seen on the Z5. However, there's always a chance Sony will decide to feature a UHD display with the newer model.

All in all, while there is no specific release date slated for the Sony Xperia Z6, techies can be sure that the new device will pack some serious improvements to the flagship when it launches.
