‘Scandal’ Season 4 Spoilers: Mellie, Fitz Get ‘Closer Than Ever’; Bellamy Young Best Actress?

After Scandal wrapped up earlier than originally scheduled, this Shonda Rhimes' offering is back in the Fall for its fourth season.

Season 3 ended with lots of unanswered questions from the main characters, and fans can expect more intense confrontations once ABC's hit political drama comes back on prime time.

Actor Tony Goldwyn said that Jerry's untimely death will become an instrument for a closer bond between him and his on-screen wife, Mellie Grant.

In an interview with God Derby, Goldwyn said that Season 4 sees a tighter relationship between President Fitzwilliam Grant III and his first lady while they are still in the process of grieving for their son's death.

"They've transcended into some new place I think, not that they won't backside. I don't know what the hell Fitz is going to think when he finds out Olivia's disappeared," Goldwyn said.

With respect to Jerry's death, Scandal fans have acclaimed Bellamy Young's acting prowess to vie for an Emmy award after her nomination at the Critics Choice TV Award. Young, who plays the role of Mellie Grant, told Gold Derby that her favorite episodes are Everything's Coming Up Mellie and The Price of Free and Fair Election.

"I have lost a lot of people in my life. Death and I, we get along. And that's where I went, and I can never think of a horror greater than burying your child," said the 44-year-old actress.

ABC announced that Scandal returns on its 9 PM time slot slated with other TV shows: How to Get Away with Murder and Grey's Anatomy Season 11, reported Deadline.
