‘Scandal’ Season 4 Release Date, Cast Spoilers: Filming in DC; No Recasting for Harrison Wright

ABC is yet to make an official announcement about the renewal of its top-rated political drama Scandal. But with multiple cliffhangers from the last season and a solid fan following, the show is almost definitely coming back on TV screens for a Season 4.

Among recent rumors about the next season of the drama, it has been reported that a number of scenes for Season 4 are likely to be filmed in Washington DC. According to Entertainment Weekly, Washington Council Member Vincent Orange is closing a deal with Scandal executive producers to pursue filming in D.C. in August. However, the decision is dependent on the state's film tax incentive program.

Creator Shonda Rhimes assured fans, who call themselves Scandal gladiators, that the show is almost guaranteed to be back on screens for a new season.

"Nobody should be worried. ABC has not done its pickups yet for next season. They always do them in like, early May," she said in a Twitter post.

Rumors are circulating online that the role of Harrison Wright will be recast to contract Eric West.

However, Rhimes denied the speculation, saying that the production is not considering recasting any role.

"I've never heard of Eric West. Harrison is not being recast EVER. How about reporters CHECK THEIR SOURCES before running with a story?" read her tweet posted on May 7.

West was also surprised on the news.

Meanwhile, Kerry Washington, who recently gave birth to her first child, is busy performing mother duties and has kept things private since the birth.

Her delivery on April 21 was a secret one, just like her Olivia Pope's character, and only her relatives, a few friends and members of the show were informed.

Scandal's Season 3 was reduced to 18 episodes from 22 to accomodate her being pregnant and to end filming in time before she became too heavily along.
