'Reign' Season 4 Premiere Date, Cast News, Spoilers: Mary And Elizabeth's Rivalry Getting More Intense

"Reign" season 4, which is expected to arrive early next year, will see the return of Kane Adelaide and Rachel Skarsten as members of the cast.

According to reports, the upcoming season will open with Mary Stuart returning to Scotland to run away from her adversities in France. However, that does not mean that her hardships are over. In season 4, the battle of Mary will continue as she faces the greatest threat of her life yet--Queen Elizabeth.

Mary's rivalry with her cousin will reportedly get even more intense in season 4. The rift between the two queens was introduced in the third season of the series, when Mary began to hate Elizabeth due to the unjust execution of Lola.

There are rumors that the script for season 4 has made its way online, revealing that the two monarchs will unleash their never-before-seen power and wrath to destroy each other. Due to previous reports that Queen Elizabeth portrayer Rachel Skarsten will no longer be back for season 5, rumors are rife that Mary will be the one to defeat Elizabeth in the upcoming season.

Other rumors also claim that as Elizabeth seeks to take down Mary, she will wage a war against Scotland. According to reports, the leaked script indicates that Elizabeth will join forces with some of the closest friends of Mary, including Bothwell, to carry out her plan to kill her rival.

The creators of the series have yet to confirm or deny the abovementioned speculations. Until then, fans should take each rumor with a grain of salt.

"Reign" season 4 is expected to air in 2017.
