'Pokemon GO' Release Date, Beta News: Evolution Require Candies And Pokemon Types?

With regard the much-anticipated "Pokemon GO," new details have surfaced and they mainly cover training and evolution.

Players are set to use candies to evolve specific Pokemon, Comic Book has reported. As per the publication, this method has replaced the evolutionary shards. It is also revealed that candies are specifically assigned to a certain evolutionary line. A case in point is using a Charmander candy to evolve Charmander to a Charmeleon and then to a Charizard.

The aforementioned method of evolution is easier than the evolutionary shards, according to beta testers; however, the approach somehow diverges from the manner of evolving Pokemon in the video game. The usual approach is leveling up the Pokemon through battling or rare candies while other methods include trading, stones, holding certain items, day and night, and happiness.

According to Game and Guide, catching two or more Pokemon of the same type gives the trainer the perfect chance to evolve them into a stronger Pokemon. The publication mentioned "type" and not "species;" thus, it is assumed at this point that having two lightning type Pokemon in the party allows a trainer to evolve the Pokemon to make it stronger.

With regard the aforementioned details, it is unclear as to whether the player has the option to choose the specie to evolve. In addition, it is still vague if players can evolve a Pokemon that only evolves through stones, time, and trade, by just obtaining two more Pokemon of similar type. Another possibility is that the type may refer to specie; thus, catching two Rattata may give the trainer a chance to evolve it into a Raticate.

As per the publication, a trainer's level is directly proportional to his stay in "Pokemon GO." This means that the longer he plays the game, the higher his level becomes. Also, trainers of a higher level have greater opportunity to catch more powerful Pokemon, which they can use in battle with other trainers.

"Pokemon GO" is set to be released later this year.
