OnePlus Two Release Date News: New Smartphone Launches April 17?

A number of recent leaks as well as speculations on the Internet suggest that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is likely to release its latest flagship smartphone and the successor to the popular OnePlus One in 2015. Unfortunately, the rumored release dates have passed, and the company has yet to share any information regarding the upcoming OnePlus Two.

According to Tech Radar, though the smartphone has yet to be unveiled, one retailer even went ahead and listed OnePlus Two on its website.

The tech website says that once again the same retailer has made the news by suggesting that the OnePlus Two will be unveiled on April 17. However, just like before, OnePlus has yet to make any announcements regarding the launch of its flagship smartphone. This has led to tech enthusiasts relying on what the retailer has to say.

However, the hardware specifications of OnePlus Two listed by the retailer make one somewhat skeptical. The retailer, GeekBuying, claims that the upcoming handset will sport the same 5.5-inch 1080p display and be powered by a Snapdragon 805 SoC, which has just about become obsolete since Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 810 chip.

The specs listing also say that the OnePlus Two will come with a 16MP primary rear camera. If this turns out to be true, the camera of the new device will be an upgrade over the 13MP sensor from the original OnePlus One model.

Earlier, this retailer had claimed that the OnePlus Two will arrive on February 10, but then delayed its launch by another month. As the timeline has already passed, many are wondering if the retailer's word should be taken seriously now.

Nevertheless, keeping in mind the fact that the original OnePlus One was unveiled in late April 2014, one would be eager to know if the company's makes any official announcements regarding its latest smartphone during the coming weeks.
