One Direction Breakup Rumors 2014: Liam Payne, Niall Horan Deny Split, Simon Cowell Comments
Despite continued breakup rumors, One Direction are still together as a group and are, in fact, on their way to producing a new album.
Speaking on the split rumors, Niall Horan admitted that each member has "different tastes" when it comes to music, but Liam Payne and Harry Styles deny that the group is disbanding anytime soon.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, 20-year-old Horan admitted that he and his bandmates were focusing on individual projects recently but emphasized that it was all in the best interests for the group.
"Last week when we were doing rehearsals, we were throwing tracks we had written back and forth to each other. We all have different tastes, [but] they all seem to come together to make a One Direction song."
As part of their solo projects, Payne said that he spent a couple of days with Pharrell Williams. He commented that he is not sure whether the meeting will result in any new releases though because "our sound is so left field for him."
Meanwhile, Styles has said that he was in a music writing session with John Legend and the Madden Brothers, but clarified that there was nothing more to it.
In an interview with Billboard, One Direction mentor Simon Cowell recognized the possibility that the group might disband some time in the future if they choose to follow individual career paths.
However, the former American Idol judge stressed that there were no plan of breaking the group up anytime soon.
"From what I hear, they're really enjoying what they're doing and and we don't feel there's anything seriously wrong here," Cowell told the magazine.
