'Madam Secretary' Season 3 Episode 9 Recap, Spoilers: U.N. Security Council To Consider Reinstating Sanctions Against Iran

CBS has released the official plot description and preview for "Madam Secretary" season 3, episode 9, titled "Snap Back."

Based on the synopsis for the episode, the U.N. Security Council will consider reinstating sanctions against Iran while Elizabeth McCord will deal with Israel's threats against the Iranians. Elsewhere in the episode, Russell Jackson will try to convince Henry McCord to lure Congressman Pearson into supporting President Dalton.

The official synopsis for episode 9 reads, "As the U.N. Security Council considers reinstating sanctions against Iran for its suspected nuclear activities, Elizabeth McCord tries to stop Israel from taking matters into its own hands when it threatens military action against the Iranians. Also, Russell Jackson pressures Henry McCord to woo his old Air Force buddy, Congressman Jeff Pearson, to support President Conrad Dalton in the House's election vote, and Stephanie 'Stevie' McCord asks Russell for a recommendation to Harvard Law School."

In episode 8 titled "Breakout Capacity," President Dalton discovered some critical information that could put the U.S.' deal with Iran at risk. The episode also followed Jason McCord as he challenged his own parents to support a different candidate for the presidency.

In other "Madam Secretary" news, actor Dakin Matthews, who plays American Ambassador Roy Curtis in the series, is reportedly going to leave the show soon. Fans have yet to know how the writers will kill off his character this season.
