MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date Rumors, Specs: Apple Will Start Shipping At End of Q2?

Apple is keeping mum despite all the rumors surrounding the release date and specs for the MacBook Pro 2016.

The latest rumors, shared by DigiTimes, claimed that the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro will "start shipping at the end of the second quarter."

In preparation for the expected release date, Dell, Lenovo and Asus also will roll out their ultra-thin devices to fend off the competition from MacBook Pro 2016.

"Apple shipped 20.38 million Mac products in 2015, growing slightly by 4.08% on year and with Apple's new ultra-thin MacBooks, the sources expect the US vendor to continue enjoying growth in 2016 despite weakening demand for notebooks," the report added.

Meanwhile, more rumors are coming out of the woodworks in connection to the specs of the MacBook Pro 2016.

For example, according to IB Times, the 13- and 15-inch devices may come with a 256GB of storage, judging from the improved capacity of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

As to the other specs, the article continued that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have support for an external graphics card, Skylake chips, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, Siri and more ports.

"The newer MacBooks are expected to feature more USB-C Type ports or an additional adapter so that users can add multiple devices. Both new MacBook Pro models are also expected to feature Thunderbolt 3, which produces data transfer speeds of up to 40 GB/s," it said.
