iPod Touch 6G Release Date Rumors: Apple to Introduce the New Media Player at MWC 2015?

While Apple has been mum on the purported 6th generation iPod Touch, there are rumors that the digital music player is still in the pipeline of the Cupertino-headquartered tech titan. Some rumors, according to Christian Post, have gone a bit far and claimed that the product may be launched in March 2015.

In case apple is still planning to revive the popular digital music player line, it needs to be asserted that already a new model of the product is overdue. Apple had launched the existing iPod Touch flagship way back in 2012 and the device is still being marketed for its original price - $199.

Gospel Herald claims that the iPod touch 6G will come with an A8 processor, while other reports say that the device may possibly pack an A9 processor.

The rumors also claim that the upcoming iPod will be available in two sizes - 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches. This sounds familiar and the rumor mills claim that the iPod Touch 6G will come in the same dimensions as Apple's recently released flagship smartphones - the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In addition, it is being speculated that the 6th general iPod will support Apple Pay, the latest mobile payment service of Apple.

Many are, however, of the view that some of these speculations are somewhat extreme, as it is virtually impossible for a digital music player to possess features same as the iPhone 6. They believe that even if Apple decides to incorporate the iPhone features into the purported iPod Tough 6G; it will certainly adversely affect the sales of company's maiden large-screen offering.

While the future of the iPod Touch 6G continues to be uncertain, media channels are hoping to see the upgraded product during the Mobile World Congress in March. According to Stabley Times, it is unlikely that Apple will release the digital media player in a full-scale event, but may possibly use the event to issue a press release regarding its unveiling.
