'House of Cards' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Frank Underwood Dies at the Hands of Wife Claire?

As 'House of Cards' is beginning to wrap up the filming for its third season, new rumors are sprouting on the Internet about some troubling developments in the story. Apparently, there's a report floating around saying Frank Underwood, the main character, might just meet his end in the upcoming installment.

In fact, the Netflix series is based on a BBC television series by the same name, which showed Frank (Kevin Spacey) dying at the hands of Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) in the third season of the series.

However, other reports say that Netflix will not follow the same storyline, as they will try to keep the show running beyond three seasons.

On that note, a report by Latin Times says that the writers might just swap roles and have Frank take down Claire instead. However, that remains to be seen, but the series will surely be exciting to watch nonetheless.

Stepping beyond that conclusion, other reports continue to say that it is Frank will be falling at the hands of Claire, in the same manner that it happened in the BBC mini-series.

Evidently, there's the possibility that Claire will try to remove Frank from the equation all together and vie for the same power that he has recently acquired. Fans should note that this type of trope can date back to William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth', specifically the character, Lady Macbeth

If this really happens, it would certainly alter the face of the series dramatically. At the same time, it could also make a bigger statement shifting to a female-oriented plot.

Meanwhile, most of the rumors involving the storyline of 'House of Cards' Season 3 are related to the show's engagement with foreign affairs, especially Russia - an issue that has always been thorny for the U.S.

Previous reports claimed that an activist/girl band and punk group that hails from Russia will make an appearance on the show. The group is known for being persecuted in Russia on the pretext of blasphemy as well as their anti-establishment protest.

On that note, 'House of Cards' Season 3 has been shot in Maryland, where the first and second seasons of the show were also filmed. In the beginning, filming of the third season was plagued with troubles, as the producers were not granted permission by the State of Maryland. However, the issue was finally resolved on April 25, allowing the filming to resume.
