'Homeland' Season 4 Premiere Date, Cast News, Spoilers: Season 4 & The Emotionally Stable Carrie

As 'Homeland' enters its fourth season, fans can expect to see the series taking a seriously dramatic turn. This is a result of certain events depicted in the previous seasons, primarily the untimely and tragic death of the character Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis).

The main focal point of Seasons 1 and 2, as well as the secondary focus of Season 3 will no doubt affect the characters in the series, especially Carrie (played by Claire Danes).

The new season of the hit drama series, which will premiere on October 5 on Showtime, will mainly focus on Carrie and her work, which involves relocating to Pakistan.

The season will also take into accounter her unborn child, which was revealed in the previous season, to be the result of the romantic relationship between her and Nicholas.

According to executive directors Alex Cary, Alex Gansa and Meredith Stiehm, the show will also be looking at how Carrie is coming to terms with Brody's death. However, she won't be having any mental breakdowns due to her bipolar disorder, as she has before in previous seasons.

"Emotionally, she has stabilized," Stiehm says, "She's going into this season very steady. There are some people who are so talented that you forgive past deeds and erratic behavior. I think Carrie Mathison is one of those people."

This new season will also introduce a new character. Fans can look forward to the debut of Aayan Ibrahim (played by Suraj Sharma?).

So far, it has been disclosed that he will be a source of comfort to Carrie and turn out to be somewhat of a close friend. However, it seems that there won't be any romantic development between them

Carrie's love life will more than likely focus on her and Peter Quinn (played by Rupert Friend).

All in all, the show will be about the characters that Brody has left behind and their lives as they go forward, once America withdraws from the Middle East.

"The show is about the private and public costs of keeping America safe," Gansa says.
