'Halo 5: Guardians' Release Date News: Master Chief Confirmed, Upcoming Beta Version, Launch Q4 2015
Although the release date of the highly anticipated franchise installment, 'Halo 5', is still set for next year, 343 Industries has already confirmed the arrival of a beta version of the game, as well as the 'Master Chief Collection' which will be available for PC.
The 'Halo 5: Guardians' beta is set for December 2014, according to 343 Industries Bonnie Ross.
"We are intentionally putting out the beta a year early so we actually can get fans' feedback to make sure that we are building the multiplayer that they want to play," said Ross in an interview with Dualshockers.
Meanwhile, 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' is finally scheduled to be released next month, and many surprises are on their way with its launch.
Mike Coulter, voice actor of Agent Locke said something that sparked rumors that Agent Locke-not Master Chief, will be the main character of 'Halo 5'.
"Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character," Colter stated in an interview with Polygon.
"The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting. Because, what's the outcome? Is he dead or alive? Because that's usually what a manhunt comes down to do, dead or alive, but you won't know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away]," Colter added.
However, 343 Industries' Frank Connor who oversees the game dispelled the rumors that Agent Locke will be the main character of the game. He insisted that the Chief will remain as the primary hero in 'Halo 5: Guardians'.
Unfortunately, Movie Pilot reports that this game will mark the last time Master Chief will make an appearence in a 'Halo' title.
"He [Master Chief] is human, he's always been human, but at the end of Halo 4 he really is reflecting on who he is and why he exists," 343 Studios representative Bonnie Ross said, according to the site.
As it stands, 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' will be released on Nov.11 while 'Halo 5: Guardians' will arrive Q4 2015.
