'Gilmore Girls' 2016 News: Netflix Revival Unveils Michel Gerard's Backstory; Streaming Now Available

"Gilmore Girls" is back on Netflix with its revival show titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." Available for streaming since July 1, the show is set to reveal what is in store for its characters after "Gilmore Girls" last aired in 2007.

In January, Netflix officially announced the revival of the series. This revival show brings together actors like Scott Patterson, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padelecki, Milo Ventimiglia and Matt Czuchry, and will include four 90-minute episodes, each representing a new season.

One of the storylines that the series will focus on is that of Michel Gerard, the snobbish but funny concierge of Dragonfly Inn.

According to Yanic Truesdale, the actor behind Gerard, exploring his character will pave the way for more conflicts in the series, making the reboot a lot more interesting to watch.

"That is nice for me as an actor because it gives me a backstory. But it gives me meat for the character because he, you know, I definitely have an arc and stuff going on in my personal life that affect the character. So the fans can expect to discover more about Michel," he said.

The actor also revealed that the revival show will delve into the lives of the other minor characters in the series aside from Michel.

The original "Gilmore Girls" series is available in Saudi Arabia, Italy, France and Argentina, while the revival series can be accessed in countries where Netflix is available.

Lauren Graham encourages those who have not seen the original series to watch it now that they already have the access to it.
