‘Da Vinci's Demons’ Season 3 Spoilers, Release Date Rumors: Cast Appears at Comic Con

Starz Network's drama 'Da Vinci's Demons' may have gotten off to a strong start but it experienced a viewership dip in its second season. However, under the helm of a new showrunner now, the cast and the production crew are preparing for a strong season three comeback.

During the last day of Comic Con Portugal last Sunday, December 7, three actors from the 'Da Vinci's Demons' made an appearance. Tom Riley, Blake Ritson, and Elliott Cowan were present at a roundtable discussion to talk about the show and what fans can expect.

Riley, who plays the role of Leonardo Da Vinci revealed that "the third season will be darker, sadder and more dramatic," adding that it will be the show's "best season" to date.

In addition, Riley also pointed out that despite the addition of a new showrunner, John Shiban, there won't be any major changes in the show, although he mentioned that it will look different.

"It didn't change the way we work, since many department heads are the same, likewise for the cast that know each other intimately. We're still doing the same thing guaranteed," he said.

Ritson also talked about his character, Count Girolamo Riario, who may be a ruthless man but has shown in some occasions that he did have a heart.

When a fan asked if there were any spoilers about Riario's new love life before 'Da Vinci's Demons' Season 3 releases, the actor said that his character will not be looking for love in Season 3, but added that it was "not to say that love doesn't come a-knocking."

In an interview with The Daily Quirk, Ritson revealed that the third season of the show would be "really morally complex."

He added that all the characters would be put through the ringer. "They're all knocked off their pedestal. There's no neat little barometer of good and evil anymore."

Season three has no official release date yet, but according to a website dedicated to Riley, 'Da Vinci's Demons' Season 3 is due to finish filming this coming Friday, December 19.
