Black Sails Season 2 Release Date, Trailer: Hannah New, Luke Arnold Tease Portrayals on Show

Starz's pirate drama series, 'Black Sails', has been renewed for second season, one that promises more adventure, drama, love affairs, and mayhem amongst the characters. The show started to film its 10-episode Season 2 at Cape Town Studios in Cape Town, South Africa in November of last year.

'Black Sails' Season 1 ended in a major cliffhanger, which sets some of the characters up for major changes in the upcoming installment. Hannah New, who joins the cast as Eleanor, talks to Collider about the part she plays in the show.

"The stakes are always so high in the show. Everything she deals with either has the threat of violence or the threat of her business going under," Hannah said, "She has so much to deal with, and she can't deal with it lightly. She has to go in heavy-handed, and that's a very fun way to deal with situations. Sometimes I wish I could do the same."

Additionally, Luke Arnold has been cast as Nate Silver, who is based on the Long John Silver character in the book. He told TVGuide that fulfilling his schedules on the set involves a lot of gym and fight training to keep up on the expectations from the character.

"It really never was the focus too much for either the production or us to get the six pack and look good with our shirt off but it was much more about being the kind of functional warriors we had to be at the time," Arnold said.

Following the premiere date of the first season that debuted January 18, 2014 on Youtube and other video on-demand channels, 'Black Sails' will most likely return on TV screens in January 2015.
