'Avengers: Infinity War' Movie News: Parts 1 and Part 2 Will Be Two Different Film?

While Marvel Studios is set to release "Captain America: Civil War" to officially kick off the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everything will come to a close as "Avengers: Infinity War" Parts 1 and 2 hit the big screen.

The titles may lead fans into thinking that "Part 1" and "Part 2" are just two parts of a single movie, but they are actually not. Co-director Anthony Russo can attest to that.

"The movies are very, very different from one another. It's not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They're just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we're shooting them at the same time," he said in a recent interview.

Asked to provide some clue as to what to expect from both movies, Russo pointed to the past, saying that 'Infinity War' will continue a story they've been working on for some time.

"For us there's a through line from 'Winter Soldier,' through 'Civil War,' right to 'Infinity War.' In our mind, the storytelling arc moves that way," he revealed.

"And I think having the amount of characters we have in 'Civil War' certainly prepares us to deal with probably tripe the amount of characters in 'Infinity War'," Anthony Russo's brother Joe added.

After the "Infinity War," Marvel is set to release three more mystery movies by 2020.

"Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1 will hit theaters on May 4, 2018, while Part 2 will be released on May 3, 2019. The three other mystery movies following the "Infinity War" are set to debut on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020.
