'Avengers 2' Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Director Whedon Hints Major Character Death in 'Age of Ultron'

Director Joss Whedon recently made a comment about his upcoming Marvel movie, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', which has given rise to some serious speculations about it. Even though the movie is set to premiere next year (May 1, 2015), fan are already clamoring to find out more details.

Whedon was asked to talk about what fans can expect to see in the 'Avengers' sequel, and all he had to say was "Death, Death and Death."

Such a shocking reply from the director triggered numerous speculations, which left fans craving more. In fact, a number of websites have already put their bet on which character from the movie will be snipped from the very reputable team of superheroes.

Based on several promotional images showing a crack in Captain America's shield, MoviePilot has hinted that Steve Rogers is going to be the one to go.

Yet another likely plot would involve Bruce Banner's demise after his alter-ego, the Hulk, goes toe-to-toe with Iron Man. On a side note, the website also revealed that Ultron's attack may be very effective against Black Widow.

MoviePilot also pointed out that the "death" Joss Whedon referred to actually relates to the obsession of Thanos with "Mistress Death," since the director had indicated that Thanos will appear in one of the 'Avengers' movies.

Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie has also considered the possible 'Avengers' characters that are likely to be removed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they said, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and Nick Fury.

Even though the filming of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' has been completed since August, the movie is currently in its post-production stage. Fans are now speculating that Marvel will release the official movie trailer sometime in November. Beyond that, rumors are afloat that the Blu-ray/DVD release of Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' will feature an exclusive preview of 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
