Apple Watch 2 Rumors, Specs, Release Date: Making, Taking Calls To Be Possible From Your Wrist?

When you buy an Apple Watch 2, you won't even need to own an iPhone, at least that's what the latest rumors are saying. As to the release date, there's no apparent change yet from the earlier talks about being dropped in June or September.

The rumors surrounding the Apple Watch 2's specs capable of connecting to the cell-network, along with a faster processor was reported by Wall Street Journal.

What that means essentially is that the new device can work autonomously from the iPhone.

"Cellular connectivity would pave the way for tether-free calling from the wrist, and would allow users to receive notifications and app updates when not connected to a trusted Wi-Fi network," Forbes reported.

As to the technology, it's not even that innovative. In fact, the second edition of LG Watch Urbane and the Samsung Gear S2 are already piggybacking on AT&T's tech to accept and respond to calls and text messages, as well as access voice messages.

Meanwhile, Value Walk alleged that the release date for the Apple Watch 2 may coincide with the release of the iPhone 7 later this year.

This is in stark contrast to the earlier report about the release date for the Apple Watch 2 during the World Wide Developers Conference in June. The article claimed that historically, Apple unveils new software innovations and updates during that time and it's likely that the tech giant will follow the same pattern.

Nevertheless, no matter when Apple Watch 2 will be released, fans are still wishing for some issues on current iPhones to be resolved such as the battery life and, to some, price.
