Xbox One Games On Oculus Rift: Streaming App Available Now In Store

Xbox One games are now available on Oculus Rift store via a streaming app that allows users to stream titles to the virtual reality headset.

This is nothing new, of course, considering that Xbox One games on Oculus Rift was announced as early as June last year, according to The Verge. But it did take about a year and a half before the app could be introduced into the Oculus Store.

Those who have Xbox streaming on Windows 10 would immediately be familiar with the layout of the Oculus Store. They can pick and choose the various consoles before they are able to access the streams themselves. There's no need to relearn new commands, and you have three virtual theaters from which to pick.

"With the Xbox One Streaming app, you can play your Xbox One games directly on your Oculus Rift," the Oculus website said. "Connect to your console via the app and watch your games come to life on a huge virtual screen in three immersive virtual theaters."

With the Xbox One games now on Oculus Rift, you can expand your library of virtual reality games through your Xbox One games. However, the streaming app needs your console to be linked to the same network as your personal computer.

Through the Xbox backwards compatibility program, you now have an expansive list of games that can be played on Oculus Rift.

The Xbox One games on Oculus Rift, however, won't all be VR supported so don't expect some immersive virtual reality experience. For now, this would have to do if you have both the console and the headgear.
