'Wonder Woman' Movie News: Solo DC Comics Movie Set to Start Filming Later this Year

News of the production start date for DC's solo movie for their iconic female heroine Wonder Woman has been released. 'Wonder Woman' will be set to shoot later this year in the Fall, however the entry of the superhero within the cinematic world will take place in next year's 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice'.

"'Breaking Bad' and 'The Walking Dead' director Michelle MacLaren will helm the upcoming movie, which features a script by Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift, the upcoming Pan)," writes Coming Soon.

While there has been no confirmed synopsis on the 'Wonder Woman' film, it is rumored to take place in the 1920s in the US and focus on the character's struggle with equal rights. It's also believed to being written as a trilogy.

"Then, they claim, a sequel is planned to take place in the 1940s and will be set against the backdrop of World War II. A third would finally bring Wonder Woman's solo adventures to the contemporary setting of the planned Justice League films," writes Coming Soon.

'Wonder Woman' is slated for release on June 23rd, 2017.
