'Wonder Woman' News: Gal Gadot Hints 'Film To Be As Dark As 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'

Since her debut in the DC Extended Universe, fans of the DC comics have been talking about their excitement to see Wonder Woman in her standalone film.

It is not new to the fans of the female superhero that it is Gal Gadot who will portray Wonder Woman in her self-titled solo film. And despite the dark themes introduced by "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," many believe that the introduction of "Wonder Woman" to the big screen will mark the beginning of the formation of the iconic Justice League.

Avid fans of DC know for a fact that Wonder Woman is the one who is actually responsible for the gathering together of the League.

According to Gadot herself, "Wonder Woman" will be just as dark as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." She teased that the movie will allow viewers to get to know more about the character of the female superhero, as what was portrayed in "Dawn of Justice" was just the tip of the iceberg.

"In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In 'Wonder Woman,' this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It's very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it's pretty dark," she teased.

She added that the film will go back 100 years to when Wonder Woman was still naïve, young idealist, who is very different to the super-confident, experienced woman that most fans know.

"Wonder Woman" hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
