"The Bible" mini-series on The History Channel has been the break out show of the year on TV to the surprise of many.  The 10 hour film has been airing in 2 hour episodes every Sunday night in March with the finale this Sunday night, by no mistake, on Easter Sunday.
The success of the show has been due in large part to the power of social media with popular pastors around the country spreading the word from T.D Jakes, to Joel Osteen, to Rick Warren.  However, for any of the 70 million people that have watched an episode so far, you see that this film has put in the work to make it great.  The acting has been fantastic and the sets and CGI have been wonderful at bringing scenes and situations alive.

If you can't get enough of this film of "the greatest story ever told," well the release is coming one week from today. The Bible will hit Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD on April 2.

Both the Blu-ray and DVD copies of the series will run a little steep, with the list price for Blu-rays running at $69.99 and DVDs running at $59.98. Luckily, if you are in the mood to pre-order the April release, you can get a pretty good deal over at Amazon for either set.
