Now that Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez are officially dating, as shown by their numerous public appearances, Efron's ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens steps into the spotlight as rumors claim that she wants to get back together with her Highschool Musical co-actor.

Since the 16-year-old actor Efron clearly has a love interest with the 35-year-old actress Rodriguez, evidenced by all their photographs in their recent Italian vacation, rumors had been placing 26-year-old Hudgens in a love triangle with the new couple saying that she's jealous.

While no official statements have been released about any of this, odds are the rumors will turn out to be unfounded. Efron and Hudgens have been living separate lives for a few years now, and it would be unlikey for Hudgens to abandon her 25-year-old boyfriend of two years, Austin Butler.

According to Hollywoodlife.com's source, "Of course [Vanessa] knows about the pictures and [Michelle and Zac] being a couple but she is very happy in her own relationship and has moved on from Zac."

So maybe it's not Hudgens who wants to get back together. Rumors also say that it may be Efron who misses his former girlfriend. It was reported that Efron and Rodriguez's relationship is just casual since Rodriguez just recently dated model Carla Delevigne.

Some fans see Efron as a rebound for Rodriguez and that she has been using him to get over Delevigne. Also fans are rooting for a reunion between Efron and Hudgens, but again no sign of their relationship making a come back steps beyond rumor.

According to a source of OK! Magazine, "Zac thought she [Hudgens] was The One. He's still crazy about her, and would love to make amends."

As it stands now, Efron is dating Rodriguez, and Hudgens is dating Butler.
