Tonight's all new episode of The CW's popular show "Vampire Diaries" is the directorial debut of actor Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan on the show. And the new director promises at least a few scenes focusing on Stefan's love life. Will he reunite with Elena, or is he moving on, perhaps to Caroline? Wesley recently sat down for an interview with TV Guide where he discussed tonight's episode. Audiences will see scenes between Stefan and Elena, but they won't be entirely romantic. Wesley explained that the doppelganger prophecy causing them to dream about each other has taken away some of the romance.

"Because they think it's a prophecy it takes away the romanticism of it like an arranged marriage," the actor said.

So does that mean Stefan is looking for romance elsewhere?  Wesley discussed the possibility of Stefan and Caroline becoming romantically involved, and it seems like it is too soon for the pair to get together.

"I don't know what to make of [Stefan and Caroline's relationship]. I don't know how to take it from best friends to romance, but it'll be interesting if and when they do it," he said.

The actor and director went on to express how important it is for Stefan to have a girl in his life, as he is otherwise too serious of a character.

"I like when girls lighten [Stefan] up a bit," Wesley said.
