According to AV Club, Jacqueline's storyline in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" presents another side of her character, which pushes more aspects of her being human. As per the publication, the season portrays Jaqueline as a self-centered person, who keeps assuming other people to do things for her.

The publication added that she is also "trying" when the issue becomes her son Buckley, who needs "some serious discipline." It is revealed that Buckley's doctor prescribes a medication named Dyziplen, which makes the child "less of a handful." This eventually transforms Buckley from a wild child to a robotic one, after taking the medication.

When Jacqueline takes Buckley to the park, he and the other children who took the Dyziplen move and talk like aliens who pretend as human children.

In other news, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" showrunner Carlock and "Friends" actress Kudrow talk about the latter's inclusion in the hit series. In his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carlock said that casting Kudrow had been a first choice thing and he thanked God that the actress had wanted to do it.

According to Carlock, they had wanted to find somebody who could tell as story where Kimmy had come from, with elements of "optimism, sunninness, and strength." The showrunner added that they both were very good at moving forward, grinning, bearing it, and having fun. For Carlock, there was no actress other than Kudrow who encapsulated that.

In the same interview, Kudrow said that she was a fan of the show, emphasizing that she was the "number one." The "Friends" actress added that she had read the script and found that it had been just "perfectly funny."
