'True Detective' Season 2 Cast News, Rumors: Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss Addresses Reports That She Will Star [VIDEO]

'Mad Men' star Elisabeth Moss recently addressed the rumors linking her to the popular HBO series 'True Detective' in a new interview.

'I can't even...it's...you know...Not in the way everyone is talking about, honestly. I had to ask my own people, 'Have you not told me something?,'" said Moss to USA Today when she was asked if the rumors are true, that she would be starring in the upcoming season.

"For me as an actor who's been in this business for over 25 years, it's so flattering to be associated with that show. (And) for anyone to think that I could be a part of that show," she added.

Moss is best known for her role as secretary-turned-copywriter Peggy Olson in AMC Network's critically acclaimed 'Mad Men,' after she previously played as President Josiah Bartlet's daughter Zoey in the 'The West Wing'.

Other than Moss, other world famous actors have been rumored to star in the next season of 'True Detective' such as Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn, Gerard Butler, Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell and Christian Bale.

"I'll just say that since people have started to see (The One I Love), I've gotten lots of e-mails from (HBO) brass that I work with, and every one of them is in love with Elisabeth Moss. So more and more rumors are going to fly," said her 'The One I Love' co-star Mark Duplass to USA Today. This came as the response to a question about whether or not he knew Moss would be starring in 'True Detective'.

In other 'True Detective' news, series creator Nic Pizzolatto recently addressed the rumors claiming he plagiarized another writer.

"Nothing in the television show True Detective was plagiarized, the philosophical thoughts expressed by Rust Cohle do not represent any thought or idea unique to any one author; rather these are the philosophical tenets of a pessimistic, anti-natalist philosophy with an historic tradition including Arthur Schopenauer, Friedrich Nietzche, E.M. Cioran, and various other philosophers, all of whom express these ideas," said Pizzolatto in a statement according to an Entertainment Weekly report.

He added, "As an autodidact pessimist, Cohle speaks toward that philosophy with erudition and in his own words. The ideas within this philosophy are certainly not exclusive to any writer."

Similar to Season 1, it is expected that Season 2 of 'True Detective' will return in January (2015) on HBO, but the official release date has not yet been confirmed yet.
