Transformers 5 Movie Release Date: Next Transformers Film Possibly 2016 or 2017?

The fourth installment in Michael Bay's Transformers series was premiered just a month ago and was well-received by the public in terms of box office sales. 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' wasn't a bad movie as many had predicted before its premier since it has scored a 6.3 out of 10 on iMDb.

Although the movie was a box office hit, it received some fairly critical reviews. Basically, critics saw Age of Extinction as visually excessive, without a strong plot line, and with shallow human characters. The Rolling Stones even gave the movie a rating of zero.

However, the movie is already on its way towards a second trilogy set with Age of Extinction as the pilot for that trilogy. The fact bears some legitimacy as there are already rumors about a fifth Transformer movie to come out in 2016.

Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has not called to these rumors just yet, as the date for the next Transformers movie has not been decided. He says that it's too early to speculate on the date and discussions about the next movie are not too far off on the horizon.

With the first trilogy featuring actor Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, the second trilogy will feature Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager.

Transformer's fans will both be delighted and exhausted to see a fifth Transformers movie going well into a sixth one in an attempt to complete the second trilogy. Some fans agree though that the second trilogy is nothing to be excited about because of the inevitably shallow plot and essentially unnecessary human characters.

After all, fans watch Transformers for the endless carnage and massive explosions don't they?
