Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Release Date, Plot Rumors: Spoilers Heat Up as New Trailer Video Is Released

Paramount Pictures recently released video footage of "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" and announced that the movie will be released in theaters across the U.S. on June 27.

Besides releasing the new stills of the film featuring Stanley Tucci and Li Bing on April 30, the producers also announced that this latest collaboration between Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg will feature 14 new characters, mostly non-humans.

Mark Wahlberg will be the new face of the franchise as Cade Yeager alongside, of course, Optimus Prime. The original cast members Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf will not feature in "Age of Extinction."

"Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" is actually the first movie of a new trilogy that will feature a new group of Dinobots. The plot of the new movie revolves around a mechanic (inventor) and his daughter, whose discovery brings down Autobots and Decepticons, in addition to a suspicious government official on them.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bay, who directs the flick, said that the latest movie in the "Transformers" series is bolder compared to the previous flicks, both in terms of the characters and the plot.

The spoiler shows Yeager as an inventor who purchases an old truck only to discover later that it is a camouflage of Optimus Prime. Bumblebee and Rachet are among the most popular Transformers who will also feature in the movie.

Yeager's daughter Tessa and her fiancé Shane are the two other protagonists of "Age of Extinction."

A report in the Times said that the Transformer franchise, which began with Shia LaBeouf playing the lead character, earned about $3 billion from worldwide box office. Now Wahlberg is expected to take center stage in the new trilogy with Michael Bay at the helm.
