Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Release Date, Plot Rumors and Latest News – Video Footage Reveals New Scenes

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction is scheduled for a release date later this year, and fans will be gearing up to see the new movie after new leaked footage emerged of the film recently. It has been revealed to fans that Transformers 4 will feature 14 new characters, most of whom are non-human.

The new Michael Bay-Steven Spielberg collaboration is essentially the beginning of a new trilogy featuring a new band of Dinobots. As part of its brand promotion, Bay promised Samsung a sneak peak of the never-before-seen film footage for its new UHDTV Curve TV.

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bay described Age of Extinction as going on a bolder direction, not only with the characters but also with some intertwining plot twists that were initially introduced on the first three chapters. Fans have long known that original cast members Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox would not be returning. Instead, Mark Wahlberg takes center stage as Cade Yeager.

Part of the spoiler reveals Yeager as an inventor who buys an old truck only to find out that it was Optimus Prime in disguise. The return of the Autobot's lead character will trigger other Transformers living in farther space. Other characters include Yeager's daughter Tessa and her boyfriend, Shane Dyson.

Some of the most popular Transformers like Bumblebee and Ratchet will still appear in the Age of Extinction; however, fans will be seeing more defined and evil characters like Lockdown.

"Lockdown is an interesting character. He travels the galaxy, he works for somebody else. And he's here for one person, one alien, and then he's out of here. So he doesn't really want to take sides. The cause and balance of the galaxy is kind of messed up when different species play with different species. And that opens up a whole other gigantic world for Transformers," said Bay detailing how the new bot came to life.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction's is written by Ehren Kruger. The film has a scheduled worldwide release for June 27, 2014. Watch the film's official trailer below:
