Tim Tebow News: Ex-NFL QB Inspires With Faith in Jesus Christ at Easter - 'If God Is for You, Who Can Be Against You?'

Tim Tebow recently attended a church service at Opelousas, Louisiana on Easter Sunday. Tebow was the guest speaker at Our Savior's Church when he spoke about facing adversity even before he was born to missionary parents in the Philippines back in 1987.

"It started when I was in my mom's womb," said Tebow to the congregation on Easter Sunday. "I had to fight for my life in there."

Tebow's mom Pamela had dysentery before she gave birth to Tim. Pamela Tebow almost had a stillborn pregnancy because she was taking medication to get rid of the disease before she knew she was pregnant. Pamela decided to proceed with her pregnancy despite the fact her doctors advised her to have an abortion.

"As Timmy entered the world, the doctor said, 'This is a miracle baby,'" said Pam Tebow to the audience when she and husband Bob were the guest speakers at SeaWorld Orlando's Bayside Stadium on Easter Sunday. "You have to love the people in your life just as God loves us, just as Christ loves us and gave his life."

Like his mother Pamela, Tim also talked about the improbability of him surviving his difficult birth.

"You could say I started competing at a real early age," said Tebow at the Our Savior's Church on Sunday. "That's all I knew how to do at that age."

The former New York Jets and Denver Broncos athlete was released by the New England Patriots during the 2013 NFL preseason and did not find a new squad during the regular season. Tebow still has not given up on his dream for returning to the NFL as a starting QB.

"Every single day is a new learning opportunity," said Tebow on Sunday. "God never puts too much on your plate that you can't handle. If God is for you, who can be against you?"

Tebow talked about how he imagines it would be like when he meets Jesus face to face in heaven.

"How cool would it be for him (God) to pull off his headset, embrace me, start to cry and say, 'Timmy, I love you. You finished strong?'" Tebow reflected.

Tebow signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to work for the SEC Network, which will debut in August 2014. Tebow has played three seasons in the NFL, his best coming with the Broncos in 2011, when he threw for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns.
