Tim McGraw, Faith Hill Deny Divorce Rumors: "I Don't Know Why 'Happy Can't Be a Story"

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been at the center of some pretty accusatory divorce rumors. Instead of letting "inside sources" do their bidding, the country couple has decided to take the speculation head on.

Faith Hill told People magazine after the couple performed in Las Vegas Friday night that she doesn't understand why the divorce rumors are coming out now after 17 years of marriage.

"[Rumors] seem to be running like crazy right now for some reason. It's perplexing. I don't know why 'happy' can't be a story."

Having been married since 1996, the McGraw says the speculation is nothing new.

"Since the first week we were married those things were out," the "Southern Girl" singer adds. "We don't even think about it. The only time we ever think about it is [when we] worry about the kids. But they've been around it, too, so they laugh it off."

In a separate interview Hill doesn't understand why there is such a demand for blatant tabloid lies. Though I'm sure both Hill and McGraw understand the relationship between hype and celebrity, she wishes the gossip industry would go away.

"I wish people would stop buying that stuff, and I wish they'd just stop printing that stuff," she told Billboard.

Some of the recent rumors surrounding the power couple include Hill having trust issues with her husband accusing him of having "sexual chemistry" with Taylor Swift. Some reports even claimed one of McGraw's tour mates was planning on releasing a book that would out the front man as homosexual.

Sure no marriage is easy, especially in the public spotlight. But to claim the parents of three are getting divorced because of Taylor Swift?
