BREATHEcast compiled an end of the year top three list for rock albums of 2014 and although there were a lot of great releases this year, only a select few rocked BC harder than the rest.

Our No. 1 pick for rock album of the year goes to Thousand Foot Krutch's OXYGEN:INHALE, which premiered at the top of multiple charts and sold well after a very successful crowdfunding campaign.

The album spawned hit singles in "Born This Way" and "Untraveled Road." Their songs also received placement on NASCAR, ESPN, and WWE events.

In addition TFK toured heavily and already announced a sequel for their album.

Our final pick is Anberlin's Lowborn which was announced as the longtime group's final album.

The lead single of the album was "Stranger Ways," and the song helped propel them around the world one last time during a massive tour.

They also saw a resurgence for their older albums as on select shows they played 2005's Never Take Friendship Personal and 2007's Cities.

Flyleaf came back in a big way this year with their first full release featuring lead singer Kristen May, who replaced long time frontwoman Lacey Sturm.

Their new album Between the Stars rocked hard with lead single "Set Me on Fire." The band lost a bit of its grungy end by added a whole new pop rock element to it with May's vocals.

The band recently announced their addition to the 2015 SnoCore with Adelita's Way, Framing Hanley, and Fit For Rivals.

Coming in strong as our honorable mention is Project 86's Knives to the Future which plays out like an epic movie or novel. Lead singer Andrew Schwab brought the band back with a vengeance for this one.

While P86 might not have the record sales of the above mentioned, the band has been synonymous with Christian heavy rock and have inspired many in their genre.
