Thor 3 Cast News, Plot Rumors, Spoilers: End of Asgard?

Rumor and speculation has it that 'Thor 3' will see the end of Asgard as fans know it. Beyond that, a possible movie title for the upcoming blockbuster addition has been hinted.

Although the release date for the third installment of 'Thor' has not yet been revealed, reports say that the title for the movie may be 'Thor 3:Ragnarok'; after movie lead Chris Hemsworth hinted the title in an interview.

"I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it's sort of the end of all things and there's obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go," Hemsworth told Screen Rant.

The "Armageddon" that Hemsworth was talking about is speculated to be Ragnarok, an apocalypse that would cause the end of Asgard.

Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, also mentioned the Ragnarok plot in an interview.

"I think there are very interesting things that happen. In the mythology, when you get to Ragnarok, which is 'the end of all things', it's not the end of the world ... it's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct, Loki essentially sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way," Hiddleston said.

While the release date for the movie is still unknown, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed in an interview with Collider that 'Thor 3' is being outlined.

Additionally, writers for the said movie have been already hired. The upcoming addition to the 'Thor' movie franchise will be written by Craig Kyle, Marvel's former senior vice president for production and development, and 'Thor: The Dark World' writer Christopher Yost.

It is expected that Chris Hemsworth will be returning for his role as the Norse God of Thunder, while Natalie Portman is rumored to be dropping out of 'Thor 3'.
