'The X-Files' Revival Spoilers: Gillian Anderson Reveals What's Missing In The 2016 Series

The upcoming "The X-Files" revival promises to be just as hair-raising, action-packed, and adrenaline-filled as the 90's hit series when it gets back on our screens in 2016. Unfortunately, while we won't be missing drones, surveillance, and impending warfare, something we got so used to won't be there this time.

"No aliens this year, sorry," says actress Gillian Anderson on The Sun.

The revelation is somewhat insulting the slew of alien news in 2015, including discoveries of may Earth-like planets. Now that science may finally acknowledge the existence of aliens, it's disappointing that our cosmic friends won't star in our favorite series.

But not so fast, in the comment section on an article in Evening Standard, fans are claiming that Anderson may just be playing with us and that aliens may in fact still appear in the new episodes.

In the original series, which became a sensation, Anderson who plays Dana Scully, alongside Fox Mulder played by David Duchovny, followed a trail of alien cover-ups and worked against aliens who wanted to colonize Earth.

Meanwhile, Anderson promises that "The X-files" revival will be really scary with some humor along the way. She believes fans will be pleased with the new series, " That's kind of what the audience and fans seem to want. I think we have accomplished that. So hopefully it will be successful."

"The X-Files" airs in 2016 in the United States. Fox has been dropping mind-boggling teasers that has been sending us chills. The teasers may just agree with fans who think Anderson was just joking.
