Things are not going to be easy for the characters of The CW's "Vampire Diaries" season 8, as Caroline, Bonnie, and Stefan are set to face hardships at the start of the season while Damon could die at the end of the season.

Series actress Candice King, who plays Caroline, shared her thoughts on what fans could expect from the show. In her interview with IGN, she said that her character, along with Bonnie, and Stefan, are set to have a good shot at a good and healthy relationship, but that was not very interesting television to watch.

According to the actress, she was sure that there was going to be a lot of curb balls thrown their way and she hoped that they made it through. In addition, she is looking forward that her character and Stefan's dynamics would turn out as "normal."

King also gave her thoughts on what Alaric's role could be in "Vampire Diaries" season 8. In the same interview, the actress said that she was interested to see how Alaric would utilize his vampire tracking abilities to save Damon and Enzo, who are killing people on the west coast.

Speaking about Damon, it is possible to see the character's death in "Vampire Diaries" season 8, according to series executive producer Julie Plec. In her interview with TV Line, as cited by Yibada, Plec unveiled that they are still in the process of writing the Stefan and Damon's fate in the upcoming season.

While Plec has not confirmed whether the scripts have already been completed or not, the executive producer hinted the possibility of Damon's death at the conclusion of the series' eight season. On the other hand, there is no exact information on whether Stefan is set to face the same fate or not.

"Vampire Diaries" season 8 is assumed to air in October.
