The Mentalist Season 6 has been a roller-coaster ride of emotions with happy and unfortunate events intertwining for Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon.

Six years since the premiere of The Mentalist in 2009, viewers are expecting that this will finally unite the two so they can move forward.

Creator Bruno Heller assures that the finale episode is going to be the most romantic of all. The most important question is: Is it going to be Jane and Lisbon, or Lisbon and Agent Pike?

Heller details that The Mentalist season finale gives closure to important events that occurred over the past eight months.

"It's a romantic finale rather than a [suspenseful] finale. With the death of Red John, there's a sense of tying [things] up and certainly this romantic angle is one of them," he told TV Guide.

There is definitely going to be a union at the end of the show, but fans cannot be so certain if long overdue feelings will come true. Certainly, Jane has a plan on marrying Lisbon but, depending on the turn of events, FBI Special Agent Pedro Pascal (Agent Pike) might reveal his love to Jane faster than his rival.

Heller said that Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney, may or may not decide to choose either Kane or Pascal; therefore, allowing a possibility of another love interest outside Season 6.

"In order for her to fulfill herself- even if she eventually fulfills herself with Jane, which she may or may not do- she has to find other relationships, other perspectives, other people who love her, just to feel fully who she is. It's very important for her to be able to step away from Jane and see herself for herself," Heller told Entertainment Weekly.
