'The Incredibles 2’ Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Details Purposely Remain Hidden From Fans

"The Incredibles 2" director Brad Bird revealed earlier this month that the process for writing the script for the sequel to the 2004 Disney and Pixar hit has begun. And while he refused to disclose anything about the plot or the release date, he did not shy away from voicing his opinions on a slew of topics during a recent interview.

As detailed in an article by Master Herald, Bird disclosed that he consciously decided to keep things under wraps believing that releasing too much information could relegate the movie "to a footnote or commentary on the current state of the superhero genre."

The director did say that the greatest special effects of "The Incredibles 2" will not be on the back of some new technology, but on the base of its characters. Bird professed his love for the superhero family, and his excitement to work with them again.

Bird may not have revealed much, but one of the movie's stars did. During his promotional tour for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," Samuel L. Jackson said that his character "Lucius Best/Frozone" will be carried over into the sequel.

"Everytime I run into Brad, he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that. I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there," Jackson said.

Adding, "I'm looking forward to what Jack-jack turned into," referring to the youngest member of the family.

In a podcast featuring the editors of Screen Rant, they opined that "The Incredibles" sequel could pick-up in real time, meaning fans could see older versions of the characters"”the approach Pixar took for "Toy Story 3," which was released 11 years after the second installment.

With the process for "The Incredibles 2" still in its nascent stages, it would seem likely that 2017 might be a target release date, says Master Herald.
