‘The Blacklist’ Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Is Liz’s Father Still Alive? Premiere Date Scheduled September 2014

The Blacklist Season 1 ended with a major cliffhanger, Tom Keen telling Elizabeth Keen that her father is alive.

In Season 2, creator Jon Bokenkamp revealed that though Raymond Reddington might emerge as Liz's father, it is not necessarily what is going to transpire when the show returns in the Fall.

In an interview with Buzz Sugar, Bokenkamp said that one of the most exciting turn of events was when Keen told Liz that his father might have survived the house fire.

"What I do not believe is that Red is lying to Liz.  The things he's told her about her father he believes to be true and thus are true, but that doesn't necessarily mean those in the writers' room believe them to be true," Bokenkamp explained.

It is also rumored that Tom might transfigure his role, but the certainty of the news is yet to be confirmed by the show's executive producer.

Another possibility is that Bokenkamp told Buzz Sugar about Tom and Liz's marriage, which is bound to happen when the former actor returns in Season 2. However, The Blacklist showrunner resisted in spoiling their plans for Keen as of yet.

Bokenkamp followed up, "[Tom] will or may or could even weave into her life because it does feel like such a conclusion that this man entered her life, had a role to play, and he's now gone," according to Buzz Sugar.

TV By the Numbers announced that The Blacklist is one of the earliest renewed shows on NBC given record of the highest ratings on 18 to 49 audience share.

The Blacklist Season 2 premieres on September 22, 10 PM on NBC.
