‘Ted 2’ Cast News, Release Date, Spoilers: Liam Neeson & Morgan Freeman Confirmed by Seth MacFarlane

The sequel to hit comedy movie 'Ted' promises to be just as star-studded as its predecessor, as it was recently announced that 'Taken' action star Liam Neeson and 'Driving Miss Daisy' actor Morgan Freeman will be joining its cast.

The movie's director, Seth MacFarlane, confirmed the new additions to the film's cast through his Twitter account on Thursday.

"Yesterday Liam Neeson, today Morgan Freeman. Not a bad week for #Ted2," MacFarlane's announcement read.

There is still no word regarding what roles the two actors will play, since plot details are still being kept under wraps.

However, there are rumors saying that Freeman will most likely play a civil rights barrister who would come into the picture to assist the titular character Ted in resolving some legal matters.

It is still unknown what role would Neeson play, but it is speculated that his appearance in the movie may be related to his role in 'Taken', since MacFarlane has a knack for pop culture references.

With the latest addition to the cast of 'Ted 2', it seems like the movie franchise is making it a hobby to include high profile celebrities in its movies. In the first 'Ted' movie, several celebrities made cameo appearances, including Ryan Reynolds, Norah Jones, Sam Jones and Tom Skerritt.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping that 'Ted 2' would not suffer the fate of the previous collaboration project of Neeson and MacFarlane.

Neeson and the 'Family Guy' creator previously worked together in a movie entitled 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' earlier this year. Despite having a star-studded cast, which includes Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and Neil Patrick Harris, the movie flopped.

'Ted 2' is scheduled to hit the theaters on June 26, 2015.
