On Tuesday, September 2, a Facebook page entitled 'RIP Sylvester Stallone' received about one million of 'likes'. The 68-year old actor, producer and director was listed as deceased in the 'About' section of the page, but without a cause of death.

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (September 02, 2014), our beloved actor Sylvester Stallone passed away. Sylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on liking this page."

With that description, many fans started commenting on the page, leaving messages of condolence. Beyond that, the hoax spread through other social media like Twitter, where countless tweets mentioned their grievances

According to Mediamass, on Wednesday September 3, the actor's representative confirmed that the actor is alive. They mentioned that, "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."
