Switchfoot's 'Fading West Tour' Met with Protesters; ‘Christian Rock is Not Holiness, You Can't Have the Things of the World and the Things of God' (VIDEOS)

Christian Rock Band Switchfoot are out on their "Fading West" tour and reportedly have had Protestors at their concerts, venue after venue. What is most alarming is that Christians are the ones holding the demonstrations. Outside of the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge, LA, protestors were filmed condemning the Band for their style of music. Front man of the band confronts his accusers in Love.

Groups from Consuming Fire Fellowship were the ones protesting this particular venue. They met outside the LA theater with large signs and megaphones rebuking "Christian Rock."

A concertgoer described to landofbrokenhearts.org an incident that took place during the concert protest. "There were a large group of religious protestors lined up outside of the venue before the show... it even got to the point where one guy wearing a sign got in a shoving match with one of the venue's security guards. Police showed up and everything," he said.

Radio station 104.5 were on location at the concert and defended the band releasing a statement. "Switchfoot are known as "the nicest guys in rock" for a reason...because they live up to it. Anyone who has been to one of their shows or had the opportunity to meet them knows they are truly charming, the sweetest, most genuine guys you could ever wanna meet. They are a band based in Christian beliefs but have made it their motto to welcome everyone. So who would protest a Switchfoot show?" it read.

In the YouTube video of the angry group the lead protestor yelled out, "Christian rock is not holiness, you can't have the things of the world and the things of God mix them together and call it Christian." He also said, "if the Lord be God serve Him, if Switchfoot be God then serve Him."

The activist went on to say that there was nothing but sinners at Switchfoot concerts and went on one by one to describe different sins named in the Bible using scripture to condemn the band and any one entering the venue. He also added, "There's not going to be a lot of Christian Rock in Hell, just a lot of Christian Rock lovers."

Lead singer of the band Jon foreman walked out at some point during the demonstration to try and give protestors a gift offering of some water bottles. When questioned what he was doing, he replied, ""The Bible says to love your enemies." Immediately one of the picketers is seen screaming and pointing in his face. Foreman however kept his composure and went on to tell everyone there that he loved them and appreciated them.

Foreman's Love comments are met with the comments "you don't know love sinner, you wouldn't know love of God if he used a hell fire preacher to smack you upside the head with it sinner."

The protesting church has a section on their website titled Confrontational Evangelism, Here is what it states:

"From time to time, when engaged in Biblical evangelism, we are asked to defend our methods. Surprisingly, our worst antagonist are professing Christians who, by false teaching, have been conditioned to oppose the true gospel presentation. These hypocrites rarely present any Bible for their opinions but usually feel it is their duty to defend the sinners from the thundering of God's holy law."

At the end of the concert Foreman stuck around to give fans an acoustic rendition of an unreleased song titled "All of God's Children." Foreman addressed the protest and then performed the song whole heartily.
