Switchfoot released their music for "When We Come Alive," which is off of their new EP, The Edge of the Earth.

In the video the band is performing on the beach to a select group of fans. Other moments from the band's history were intertwined in the footage. Some of the pictures are from fans who shared the photos over Instagram. "So many incredible moments frozen in time, captured by all y'all! We're gonna pick 9 winners and then keep this thing going- and pick 9 more next week," wrote lead singer Jon Foreman.

The Switchfoot frontman also wrote a guest column on the Huffington Post where he spoke about the meaning of "When We Come Alive."

"The meaning of life... Maybe it varies for all of us. But if the meaning of life cannot be answered by the scientists or the philosophers, then it's up to the rest of us to define what it means to be alive. We, the living, answer that question every day -- not with our words, but with our lives," he wrote.
