'Super Smash Bros' 3DS Free Demo Download Release: Trial Version Launched By U.S. Nintendo eShop

A brand new demo for 'Super Smash Bros' on the 3DS has just been released and is available for download on the U.S. Nintendo eShop. While Platinum Nintendo Club members and Japanese gamers have already had the chance to try the game out, North American 3DS gamers finally get their chance to play today.

The demo version will allow players to choose from five characters, Mario, Link, Mega Man, Pikachu and Villager. What's interesting about the demo, is that it's not strictly singleplayer. Gamers with the demo will be allowed to compete with each other in local multiplayer matches.

The official statement from Nintendo reads, "The Club Nintendo demo of the game features an unlimited play count, five playable characters... one stage (Battlefield) and the ability to compete in local multiplayer matches with fellow Nintendo 3DS owners who have downloaded the demo to their systems."

Beyond that, Training mode is accessible. To access this, players must enter a group smash game with a CPU opponent. Also, in the demo, Controls are not mappable, but gamers should expect them to be in the full version.

Another important thing to note is that the demo is good for about 30 uses. This means that playing a different game or shutting the demo down will use up one "use." So players should use their limited time wisely and launch the demo version if and when they have to time to play it.

On a side note, SSB for 3DS sold at an astonishing rate in Japan, with around one million copies pushed out during its first week of sale.

Also, fans looking to avail the Wii U version of the title will have to wait for an announcement about its official release date. However, rumors are saying 'Super Smash Bros.' for Wii U will be released on November 21.
