'Street Fighter 5' Release Date, Rumors: Series Gets February Release, Six More Characters?

With "Street Fighter 5" coming to the market soon, rumors surfaced that the games' release would be in February.

"Street Fighter 5" will reportedly arrive in Japan, Europe, and North America, in February, according to Christian Post. As per the publication, the Japanese market would be having the game's fifth installment on Feb. 18 while Europe and North America would be getting the copies of the game on Feb. 16, which is two days ahead.

The publication added that it is assumed that the Southeast Asian fans of the "Street Fighter" video game franchise are now excited to the games' release, alongside Europe and North America.

The standard physical version of "Street Fighter 5" is expected to cost SG$74.90 (in Singaporean dollars) while the digital version will be set at SG$71.90, according to IGN. Game download versions, which come with the "Street fighter V Asian" original theme, cost SG$71.90.

A special package called "Street Fighter V Special Shoryuken Edition" also joins the physical copy standard edition. It contains Asian original command listings for 16 characters, along with limited product codes. An original steelbook, which is designed for the European release, is also produced in limited amounts that it will only be accessible to some players in Asia, unfortunately.

In addition to the package, the limited edition PlayStation, together with 12-months "Street Fighter 5" themed cards were also announced.

"Street Fighter 5" is also set to have a "cross-platform" gaming mode, which allows players from various platforms to play with one another. Also, six new characters are expected to be seen in the game, as per Christian Post. This is assumed to provide a new level of gaming experience for players.

"Street Fighter 5" is set to be released for the PC and PlayStation 4.
