'Steven Universe' Season 4 News Update: Series Won't Air This December

Fans of "Steven Universe" might have to wait a bit longer before season 4 resumes.

According to reports, "Steven Universe" season 4 will return January next year, so fans might not be able to see any episode of the series this December.

Following its two-month hiatus, the creators of the series released two episodes, "Gem Harvest" and "Three Gems and a Baby," last November. While fans are excited for the release of new episodes, recent reports say that no episode will be released this month since December is not a good season for TV shows. This is especially because it is hard to keep up with the busy schedules of viewers during the Holiday season.

There are speculations that the creators of the series are not ready to risk another bump by releasing new episodes this month, considering the low ratings received by the recent episodes. "Gem Harvest," which was released on November 17, reportedly earned around 1.385 million viewers. This figure got even worse with "Three Gems and a Baby," which only had 1.286 million viewers.

Since Cartoon Network has not yet confirmed when the series will return, the January release of the new episodes remains uncertain. Some speculate that the series will take yet another long hiatus since it last aired in November, and only the creators can tell when it's coming back.

Meanwhile, Boom! Studios has released the "Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems: Three Gems and a Teen" comic book, which features the ability of the Three Gems to showcase their maternal instincts.
