Stars Wars Episode 7 Movie Plot Rumors, Cast News: Most Expensive Lucas Film Yet at $200M

Star Wars Episode 7 could be the most expensive installment of George Lucas' franchise film series yet. Disney Chairman Alan Horn has said that the production may reach as much as $200 million to reward loyal fans from their loyalty to the property.

The production is set to commence shooting in May 2014 in the Middle East, which is expected to give Star Wars a truly authentic look.

"We have to give that the 'Star Wars'-ian look, if I can use that as an adjective - we need to go to these places," Abrams followed up.

At the moment the crew has started on the pre-production photography in Pinewood Studios London.

The plot will focus on the period 30 years after the events that occurred in the Return of the Jedi.

Director J.J Abrams said the casting is not yet complete and they are anticipating more changes on the screenplay still. R2-D2 is confirmed to join the upcoming Star Wars sequel together with some familiar characters. Among the new cast members are Adam Driver, Ed Speelers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas, and Ray Fisher.

Disney also talked about the possibilities of releasing new Star Wars sequels in 2017 and 2019, though plans for the production are not yet laid out. Rumors of two spin-off movies are circulating to be released on 2016 and 2018.

Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to premiere in December 2015.
