'Stardew Valley' Release Date: Game Now Available On Mac, Linux

The wait is finally over for all Mac and Linux users as indie farming simulation role-playing video game Stardew Valley will now be available on the mentioned systems.

According to Tech Times, Eric Barone, the developer of the game, has announced that the game's Steam build will can now be played on the Mac and Linux devices. He proclaimed the news in a Chucklefish blog post. He added that a direct download option can also be available through the GOG real soon.

Stardew Valley has sold more than 425,000 copies in the first couple of weeks since it came out. Later in June, it was announced that the game will also be made available on the Wii U, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

"It's very important to me that playing Stardew Valley with console controllers is intuitive and effortless. I'll be the first to admit that the current, rudimentary controller support in the PC version is far from ideal, and it will need to be adjusted prior to the launch," Barone said according to Tech Times.

Also, according to Gamersear, if the users have their own copy of Stardew Valley on Steam, they would be able to play the game on any platform or console without encountering issues. Also, Barone said that multiplayer, version 1.1 and localization are still in the process of development.

Stardew Valley is an indie farming simulation role-playing video game developed by ConcernedApe and published by Chucklefish Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows in February 2016.
